About

The early days of Vannoy Construction date back to 1952 when James R. Vannoy started a small remodeling and residential construction business in Jefferson, NC. After receiving his general contracting license in 1963, James R. Vannoy began to grow the company, first starting in the commercial and industrial markets. By 1971, after Eddie Vannoy joined forces with his father, they formed James R. Vannoy and Sons Construction Co., Inc., commonly known as Vannoy Construction. Like a family tree, from the time the corporation was established, the business kept growing in size and scope of service. In 1974, another Vannoy son, Mark, joined the company. His joining presence fueled the expansion of the company. Shortly thereafter, the corporation was granted unlimited general contractor’s licenses in North and South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, and Mississippi. Today, with project exceeding $100 million and revenues exceeding $350 million, our focus on commitment and honor remains. More than six decades later, Vannoy Construction is licensed in 48 states and currently hold the following honors: North Carolina Top 100 Private Companies, #36, North Carolina Business Journal Nation's Top 400 General Contractors, #152, Engineering News Record (ENR) 2014 Best Place to Work, Charlotte Business Journal
